In response to a complaint filed by residents of the La Playa community, the Puerto Los Cabos development issued a statement outlining ongoing construction and environmental measures in the area.
According to the statement, the company is implementing actions aimed at protecting and regenerating the coastline, with a focus on beach restoration and erosion control. It said the work is being carried out with the required permits and in compliance with applicable regulations. The company added that it will continue coordinating with relevant authorities to complete the project.
Regarding the lighthouse in La Playa, Puerto Los Cabos said the structure is national maritime infrastructure under the authority of the Mexican Navy, which is responsible for its maintenance, technical operation and public access. The development said it is still in communication with maritime officials overseeing the site.
The company also said plans include preserving public access to the area and presenting a proposal to authorities for a future “Parque El Faro” project.
Puerto Los Cabos concluded by reaffirming its commitment to maintaining public spaces within its property, including parks, sidewalks, avenues and medians, and said it remains focused on the well-being of the surrounding community.
