How Many Hurricanes are Expected this Year?

Glad you asked. The National Water Commission has reported that between 14 and 20 tropical storms are expected, a tad higher number than in recent years. Of these, 7 to 10 will be tropical storms, while 3 to 5 might become high category hurricanes. The first one of the list was named Andres and it formed early last weekend in the south of Mexico and moved West quickly. The following ones will be named Blanca, Carlos, Dolores, Enrique, Felicia, Guillermo, Hilda, Ignacio, Jimena, Kevin, Linda, Marty, Nora, Olaf, Pamela, Rick, Sandra, Terry, Vivian, Waldo, Xina, York and Zelda. It’s never too early to start preparing for hurricane season, acquire insurance and storm shutters.
