Traffic detours on La Paz Downtown and the Malecon surroundings

Due to Student’s Day celebrations

Starting at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 16, traffic will be closed on Paseo Álvaro Obregón from Márquez de León to Héroes del 47 for the 5-kilometer Student Day footrace.

Partial traffic will be restored once the last runner completes the course.

For the awards ceremony, the closure on Álvaro Obregón Street, from Agustín Arriola to 5 de Mayo Street, will be reduced, with full traffic reopening at 10:00 PM as usual.

On Saturday, May 17, for the 45th Coastal Half Marathon starting at 3:00 PM, Félix Ortega and Nicolás Bravo streets, as well as Marcelo Rubio streets at their intersections with Antonio Rosales and Melchor Ocampo, will be closed to allow the installation of a platform, start arch, and finish line.

On the same day, starting at 4:00 PM, traffic will be cut off from Paseo Álvaro Obregón from Antonio Rosales to Calle Norte, followed by the left lane of the Alberto Andrés Alvarado Aramburo scenic road, all the way back to the Hotel La Concha.

It should be noted that two-way traffic will be opened on the right lane of the scenic boulevard, resuming normal traffic once the last runner has completed the course.

Finally, on Saturday, for the motorsports event “O Reilly Bronco Short Course,” the road closure of Paseo Álvaro Obregón from Manuel Márquez de León to Ignacio Allende will begin at 2:00 PM, ending at 1:00 AM on Sunday, May 18.

In light of the above, citizens are urged to plan their trips, drive with caution, and heed the instructions of traffic police at all times. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
