The Los Cabos City Council has announced the “Plan Unidos por Los Cabos” (United Plan for Los Cabos), a public works initiative aimed at improving urban infrastructure, mobility, and residents’ quality of life, while also enhancing the experience of visitors to the region.

As part of the plan, the municipal government will focus on upgrades to the TranspeninsularHighway near Cerro Colorado. Roberto Flores, Director of Urban Development, said the improvements are already underway.

“We know there are major problems and delays, and we’re working on them,” Flores said. “The next step is urban renovation through image improvements. In terms of mobility, we’re building a pedestrian bridge that will solve the safety issues in that area.”

The stretch of highway between Cerro Colorado and the entrance to the Westin Hotel has been identified as one of the most dangerous points for turning or accessing the four-lane road. The new project will allow safer lane changes and smoother navigation for drivers traveling through the corridor.
