Following the success of Condor Airlines’ direct flight between Frankfurt, Germany, and Los Cabos, the airline has confirmed a second season of operations.
The new season began on November 3, with 285 European passengers arriving on the inaugural flight. The route will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, through April 6, 2026, further strengthening Los Cabos’ growing appeal in the European market.
According to data from the first season, which ran from November 2024 to April 2025, German visitors to Baja California Sur were characterized by high education levels and strong purchasing power. Most planned their trips more than three months in advance, booking online or through specialized travel agencies.
“Direct connectivity with Germany through Condor Airlines not only positions us as a world-class destination but also attracts sophisticated, long-stay travelers with a high economic impact,” said Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of FITURCA, the Los Cabos Tourism Board.
Esponda noted that the route’s performance underscores Los Cabos’ potential for continued growth in the European market, especially among travelers who value nature, hospitality, and the authentic experiences that Baja California Sur offers.
Data shows that 38 percent of German visitors earn between $45,000 and $100,000 USD annually. Their average stay of 10.5 days contributed significantly to local consumption, with average spending of $3,000 per person. About 69 percent stayed in four- and five-star hotels, while others chose villas, apartments, or accommodations with friends. More than half, 56 percent, rented cars to explore the region independently, reflecting their interest in diverse destinations across the state.
Nature and the sea remain top attractions for German tourists, who are drawn to marine life, pristine beaches, diving, hiking, and snorkeling. “The landscapes, climate, and tranquility are among the most frequently mentioned reasons for choosing this destination,” Esponda said. Popular places among this segment include Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, La Paz, Loreto, Todos Santos, Cabo Pulmo, San Antonio, El Triunfo, and La Ventana, as well as various protected natural areas.
Survey results show that 90 percent of German tourists were highly satisfied with their experience, highlighting the safety, service, and hospitality they received. Notably, 31 percent expressed interest in acquiring a second home in the region.
The route has also diversified Los Cabos’ international visitor base: 60 percent of Condor passengers were from Germany, 31 percent from other European countries, and 9 percent from additional international markets. This diversity strengthens the region’s European presence and reinforces Los Cabos’ position as a global destination. It also opens new opportunities for economic growth and consolidates Baja California Sur’s leadership in attracting international visitors.
FITURCA added that many travelers also participate in timeshare programs and show interest in real estate investments, opening new possibilities for the luxury travel sector and authentic regional experiences.
