Los Cabos is expanding its air connections with Canada, reinforcing its position in what officials describe as its second most important international market.
The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (Fiturca) announced the addition of four new direct routes from Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton and Montreal, scheduled to begin during the 2026–2027 winter season.
Fiturca General Manager Rodrigo Esponda said the expanded service will make the destination more accessible to travelers across Canada and could lead to a record number of visitors.
“Increased airline connectivity and more direct routes from several Canadian cities to Los Cabos allow us to anticipate a historic year for tourism from the Canadian market,” Esponda said.
The first flights are set to begin Nov. 16, 2026, when Porter Airlines launches service from Toronto three times a week and from Edmonton four times a week. On Dec. 10, Air Transat will introduce a weekly flight from Montreal. Porter Airlines will then add a twice-weekly route from Ottawa starting Dec. 18.
Tourism data shows Baja California Sur welcomed about 220,000 Canadian visitors last year, with approximately 215,000 traveling to Los Cabos. The figures underscore the market’s importance and ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in the region.
