Prepare for Road Work on Some Streets in La Paz

The State Government, through SEPUIMM (The Ministry of Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Mobility, Environment, and Natural Resources), will carry out new paving and re-leveling works, announced Carolina Armenta, head of the state agency.

These projects are part of the State Roads Plan, which, to date, represents an investment of more than 2 1/4 million pesos in initiatives distributed throughout Baja California Sur. She mentioned that the following hydraulic concrete paving projects are currently under bidding: Forjadores Boulevard, from Colima to Luis Donaldo Colosio (north-south, in front of the shopping mall); Loreto Street, from Forjadores to La Paz Avenue (including storm drainage works); Marcelo Rubio Ruiz Street, from Vicente Guerrero to República; Guanábana Street, between Dátil and Naranja; as well as the second stage of paving of Ancón Street, in the town of Los Barriles.

Likewise, asphalt resurfacing work is underway on the following roads: Carabineros Street (from Colosio Boulevard to Dátil Street); 16 de Septiembre Street (from Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez Street to Isabel la Católica Street); Santos Degollado Street (from Padre Kino Street to México Street), Melchor Ocampo Street (from Paseo Álvaro Obregón Street to Ignacio Ramírez Street); and 5 de Mayo Street (between Juan Domínguez Cota Street and Margarita Maza de Juárez Boulevard).

In the municipality of Comondú, resurfacing on the Transpeninsular Highway, from kilometer 0+000 to kilometer 19+100, is planned.

This strategic project seeks to strengthen regional connectivity and improve transportation between communities.

Armenta also said that the public will be notified in advance when construction begins, reiterating that this type of action reduces travel times, increases safety for pedestrians and motorists, and promotes development through improved connectivity and infrastructure.
