The government’s firm hand is necessary
Víctor Castro spoke against the closure of coastal roads in the Gulf of California area specifically in the municipalities of La Paz and Los Cabos, assuring that they will reopen these access routes, which have historically been used by Southern Californians and have been blocked by private individuals.
The governor emphasized that no one is authorized to close coastal roads. “We are first in dialogue with business owners, and I will do so with the City Council so that we can respond to the municipal urban development plan so that this plan does not contemplate road closures,” he stated.
Castro said nobody can close Baja California Sur’s coastal roads, reiterating that all will be opened as required by law. “They will be opened in compliance with the law, always seeking to respect the law. The law is also history; let business owners respect our right of way,” he declared. Finally, he specified that he, himself will advise when the roads will be opened in case the individuals refuse to do so as agreed.
