La Paz launches new education initiative
During the opening ceremony for this new program, Manuel Ventura, director of the Municipal System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) of La Paz, was accompanied by Cinthya Montufas, director of the Institute for Training State Workers of Baja California Sur (ICATEBCS), and Thalía Avilés, director of Attention to Vulnerable Population of the State DIF System (SEDIF BCS). The officials delivered essential materials and tools to the participants, ensuring access to the necessary supplies for an optimal and successful learning experience.
The new initiative kicked-off with a Pedicure Spa course with modules on more advanced techniques such as the application of semi-permanent gel. This course will be taught at the Community Development Center (CDC) in the Agua Escondida barrio, near the State University (UABCS). This project aims to provide sought-after professional training accompanied with the appropriate tools and resources to citizens interested in improving their skills and expanding their employment options. An expansion that also opens doors for both entrepreneurial and self-employment opportunities as well as employment opportunities in various growing industries.
The director of DIF La Paz mentioned that this course is the first of several that will be offered in different CDC’s in the city. The program’s main goals are to support those interested in acquiring new skills in order to upgrade their current income earning potential, teach entrepreneurship and showcase how this can allow them to generate income independent of a job and to strengthen their personal and professional development.
Among the available topics of study are courses in pedicure, relaxing massage, haircut for women and men and the application of nails with polygel, using sculpting techniques. These workshops are taught by specialists in each field with an emphasis on preparing the participants for the workplace and the professional awareness required.
To obtain information about upcoming activities and courses, DIF La Paz invites interested parties to consult their official social networks, where the dates and locations of the following training sessions will be published.
