The new 24-hour Soriana Hiper supermarket in the El Tezal neighborhood, next to Costo in Cabo San Lucas, opened three weeks ago with the presence of a Mariachi band, top Soriana executives, and lots of fanfare, only to be closed a few hours later by the City Government.
Los Cabos Mayor Oscar Leggs stated a day prior they could not open because of a condition of their construction permit, forcing them to build a pedestrian bridge before opening.
The same day, the Soriana executives met with Leggs, posted a bail bond that covers the cost of the bridge, and the store was open again Friday morning.
“The bridge will be built by Soriana and Costco,” stated government officials.
The supermarket is pretty, much prettier than its sister market on the road to Todos Santos, has its own fast-food joint, and super friendly staff.
The Soriana Hiper El Tezal will be open 24 hours a day. Be careful, vehicle traffic has become … intense.
