Fishing Girls Tournament

The Tortugas Fishing Girls tournament is an exciting two-day coastal sportfishing event created to highlight female anglers and foster a love for fishing among young girls. Set against the scenic shoreline of Baja California Sur, this competition brings together local families, aspiring anglers, and seasoned competitors for a weekend filled with skill-building, friendly competition, and community spirit.
Anglers hit the sand early at Playa del Muelle (located next to El Tamaro) with rods in hand from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Scales operate continuously during these hours to weigh and record catches. Following the final casts, the action shifts back to the Plaza El Pescador Kiosk at 10:30 AM for the official awards ceremony, celebrating top catches and crowning the winners.
Organized with the support of FONMAR and local sportfishing associations, the event encourages clean, accessible shore fishing. For questions or registration inquiries, participants can contact the event President at 646 294 45 31.
