Not without the opposition of some
Delek, a high-profile residential tourism development, includes the construction of 50 houses, 40 apartments, and two hotels in Las Playitas, Todos Santos.
It represents a significant intervention in the natural environment of Las Playitas, an area that has seen growing real estate and tourism interest in recent years. Environmental groups and residents of Todos Santos have previously expressed concern about the increase in megaprojects in these ecosystems due to the risk of long-term environmental impacts.
The project contemplates a land use change and the development of various projects on an area of more than 22 hectares. It includes the construction of 50 single-family homes, 40 apartments in vertical condominiums, two hotels (one five-star and one boutique), three commercial areas, restaurants, beach clubs, a desalination plant, and a wastewater treatment plant.

The project will be developed in phases and is expected to be fully completed by 2033.
According to the document authorized by SEMARNAT (National Secretariat of Environmental Protection), the development will be located in an area that includes dunes and borders ZOFEMAT (the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone). The proposal comprises conservation and regeneration of native vegetation, as well as reforestation in specific areas and measures to contain coastal erosion such as sand-trapping fences.
The location for Delek is prime real estate, nestled 6.5 miles north of Todos Santos in the scenic Las Playitas area. It’s an area known for its natural beauty, and this development promises to add a new dimension to the landscape.
