La Paz Firefighters Get Presents from Donors

The station received a donated rescue truck, which enhances the vehicle fleet to strengthen emergency response in the municipality, said Commander General Juan Ruíz. The specialized unit was managed by the Baja Bridges Association, chaired by Katherine Turner, in coordination with Tijuana Fire Captain Joaquín Jiménez.

For his part, the commander offered special thanks to Lori Ballard and her family, who made possible the acquisition, import, and transport of the truck, which was named “Kerr” in honor of her 9-year-old son, who died in a motorcycle accident. “Thanks to this noble gesture, the memory of their son will live on in the service and care we will provide to the general population,” he expressed.

Finally, the La Paz Fire Commander added that a donation of equipment for rescue efforts was also received from an American, Jeff Beller, further strengthening operations.
