During Holy Week, access to Balandra Beach will be limited to two daily shifts, with capacity limited to 450 people per shift, on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents of La Paz can enter Balandra Beach free of charge by presenting official identification with a local address, such as a voter ID or driver’s license. This free access also applies to seniors with an INAPAM ID and people with disabilities.
Balandra, a popular tourist destination located in a protected natural area. To ensure the preservation of the beach and control capacity, an electronic bracelet system has been implemented for non-local visitors.
This electronic bracelet system allows for controlling the number of visitors. Tourists must purchase their electronic bracelet online or at SEMARNAT offices. The bracelet costs $6 US per person. Balandra Beach is known for its natural beauty and its iconic Balandra Mushroom. It is a popular tourist destination that attracts both domestic and international visitors. The beach has a limited capacity so access to Balandra is through two Shifts:
- Shift 1: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Shift 2: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
- The authorities remind visitors to keep in mind the following recommendations:
- Respect protected areas and conservation regulations.
- Avoid the use of motorized vehicles on the beach.
- Do not litter and keep the beach clean.
- Do not harm the local flora and fauna.
- Enjoy the beach responsibly and consciously.
Please remember that access to the rest of the beaches in the municipality of La Paz is free, including areas such as El Caimancito, Playa Eréndira, Pichilingue, El Tecolote, El Coyote, as well as beaches in El Centenario, San Juan de la Costa, Los Dolores, Todos Santos, El Pescadero, Los Barriles, and Los Planes, among others.
The La Paz City Council launched an app that allows you to report a closed or difficult to access beach this vacation, using the La Paz app or writing to pl**********@la***.mx. Because free access to the beaches is a constitutional right.
