El Triunfo’s Handicraft Festival 2025: A Must-See Cultural Celebration

Something different to do

This is a cozy, small village located 45 minutes from La Paz. This Sunday, March 16, the El Triunfo Artisan Festival will be held, promoted by the State Tourism Secretariat and the UABCS (University of Baja California Sur).

Juan Lara, head of the Municipal Department of Culture, stated that the event will include an artistic and cultural program, along with the sale of crafts and regional products, contests and workshops for the community. He emphasized that the festival’s purpose is to promote and preserve the region’s traditions while recognizing the efforts of those who create high-quality pieces with local materials.

After attending the festival, visitors can savor the authentic flavors of Baja California Sur by sampling unique regional recipes at Cafe Las Alforjas, supporting the sustainable fishing practices of Toto Frito, or exploring the global influences on El Triunfo during its heyday with El Minero’s international fusion menu.

For a glimpse into the past, enjoy a traditional English tea experience at Margery’s Tea Room, just as miners’ wives did here centuries ago, located within the historic Piano Museum.

In this place, time seems to stand still, allowing visitors to step back and experience a slice of Baja California Sur’s rich history. Whether you are drawn to its storied past, scenic landscapes, or vibrant cultural scene, El Triunfo promises an unforgettable journey off the beaten path.
