The Pacific Airport Group (GAP) has unveiled its 2025-2029 Master Development Plan, committing more than 52 billion pesos (approximately $2.56 Billion USD) to upgrade and enhance 12 major airports across Mexico. Among them is Los Cabos International Airport (SJD)—one of the country’s most critical travel hubs—which will receive significant infrastructure upgrades and road access improvements.
Key Upgrades for Los Cabos International Airport
• Terminal 2 Expansion: A 32% increase in size to accommodate more passengers and improve operations.
• Access Road System: A comprehensive reorganization and expansion to ease congestion and improve traffic flow.

• Terminal 1 Renovation: A complete remodeling of the domestic flights terminal to optimize passenger movement and connectivity.
Nationwide Enhancements Across GAP-Operated Airports
• 50% increase in terminal capacity.
• 45% more inspection points for security efficiency.
• 25% expansion of aircraft platforms.
• 20% improvement in the flight field for better operations.
Raúl Revuelta, GAP’s General Director, emphasized the strategic role of airports in La Paz, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta within Mexico’s tourism industry. He stated that these major investments aim to strengthen infrastructure and “position Mexico as a leader in global air connectivity.”
The Master Development Plan is designed to meet growing passenger demand and enhance operational efficiency, ensuring Mexico’s airports remain competitive and world-class.
