La Paz has once again been recognized as the “Best Emerging Destination for Meetings and Events,” receiving the 2025 Medal of Excellence from Convenciones Latinoamérica magazine for the second consecutive year, the Secretary of Tourism and Economy, Maribel Collins, announced.
Collins said the award reflects the joint efforts of the tourism, hotel, and service sectors, which have positioned La Paz as a leading destination for business tourism thanks to its modern infrastructure, strong connectivity, and authentic experiences.
“Receiving this recognition again demonstrates that in Baja California Sur we work with vision, professionalism, and commitment to build competitive and sustainable destinations capable of attracting high-level congresses, conventions, and events,” Collins said.
The award was presented during the 26th Gala Dinner for Excellence in Meetings and Events, organized by Convenciones Latinoamérica in Mexico City. Elizabeth Aceves, Director of Meetings Tourism for FITUES, accepted the honor on behalf of the destination.
Collins added that the recognition reflects the collaboration among all levels of government, the business community, and the people of La Paz, who together strengthen the region’s tourism competitiveness and reinforce its reputation as a destination of excellence both nationally and internationally.
