Cruz Roja Mexicana will hold the seventh edition of its national fundraising race “Todo México Salvando Vidas” on September 6 in Los Cabos, offering residents and visitors a chance to support the Red Cross through a 5K run, 10K run or recreational walk.
The nationwide charity event is open to runners of all ages and fitness levels. Organizers expect more than 1,000 participants for the Los Cabos edition.
How to Register
Registration costs 500 pesos per participant. According to local reports, all proceeds will go directly toward Cruz Roja Los Cabos operations, including ambulance maintenance, medical supplies and emergency response services.
Participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and race number as part of their registration kit.
Why It Matters
Saúl Fonseca, Cruz Roja delegate for Baja California Sur, said the institution requires approximately 12 million pesos annually to maintain emergency services in Los Cabos. The race represents one of several fundraising efforts throughout the year to cover operating costs.
“When citizens register and participate, it reflects the solidarity our community has with the institution,” Fonseca told local media. “Strengthening Cruz Roja speaks to the awareness of our community.”
The funds help Cruz Roja respond to accidents, medical emergencies and natural disasters across the municipality. Unlike tax-funded emergency services in many countries, Cruz Roja relies heavily on donations and community fundraising to operate.

The race will be held in Los Cabos on Saturday, September 6. Specific start times and route maps have not yet been announced. Similar charity races in Baja Sur typically begin early in the morning to avoid the heat.
