Governor Víctor Castro will lead La Paz’s Independence Day ceremony on September 15 at the State Government Palace, marking the 215th anniversary of Mexico’s independence. Thousands are expected to gather across from Chedrauion Isabel La Católica Street for the festivities, which will feature music, traditional dances, and a light-and-drone show during the Grito de Independencia.
Similar ceremonies take place nationwide. In La Paz, the event begins at 7:30 p.m., with civil and military leaders in attendance. A popular festival will precede the official program, offering Mexican snacks and live performances.
More than 500 personnel will be deployed for security and emergency services, including the State Preventive Police, SEDENA, SEMAR, the National Guard, the Red Cross, firefighters, and state and municipal Civil Protection.
To prepare for the event, road closures around the Government Palace will begin on September 14. Isabel La Católica Street will be closed from Ignacio Allende to Antonio Rosales for stage setup. On September 15, additional closures around the palace will start at 5 p.m.
Authorities recommend arriving early to secure a good spot and avoid heavy crowds.
