Santiago Launches Festivities with Music, Parades, and Mango-Themed Fun

The small village of Santiago kicks off its annual festivities this Thursday, July 24, with a lineup of concerts, contests, parades, races, and family entertainment.

Los Cabos City Council, led by Mayor Christian Agúndez, will inaugurate the celebrations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:00 p.m. Events will follow, including a mango candy-making contest and the crowning of “Rosa María I” as queen of the Mango Fair. The evening concludes with a performance by “Los Grandes del Pardito” and the traditional mañanitas birthday song honoring Santiago Apóstol.

On Friday, the day begins at 6:00 a.m. with the traditional parade departing from the Las Cuevas bridge. At 9:00 p.m., “Frida Sofía I” will be crowned queen of the traditional festivities, followed by a popular dance featuring “Her Majesty La Brissa.”

On Saturday, July 26, events begin at 11:00 a.m. with horse races, followed by the queens’ walk and musical performances by “Latitud 22,” “Triple Corona,” and “Traviesos de la Zierra.”

Sunday, July 27, features various sporting events and the traditional donkey race. The evening’s musical lineup includes “Los M y M de Martín y Manuel” and “El Coyote y su Banda Tierra Santa.”

The festivities conclude on Monday, July 28, with a children’s show featuring an official Tatiana impersonator at 6:00 p.m., followed by a film screening for kids at 8:00 p.m.

Families are invited to join the celebration and enjoy the rich traditions of Santiago, affectionately known as the “Mango City.”
