Los Cabos Licenses Nearly 700 Beach Vendors

Municipal authorities on Wednesday issued official uniforms and ID credentials to 698 registered beach vendors as part of an effort to better regulate commercial activity in tourist zones and enhance the visitor experience.

The credentials were distributed through representatives of the vendors’ unions, according to officials with the Federal Maritime Land Zone (ZOFEMAT).

The Mayor of Los Cabos emphasized that a formal registry and visible identification system will help maintain order on the beaches and prevent misconduct, contributing to a more positive environment for tourists.

“This will make our beaches safer and more enjoyable for visitors,” he said.

Manuel Barajas, head of Fiscal Inspection for Los Cabos, noted that the new system will streamline monitoring efforts. “With uniforms and IDs, inspectors can easily identify authorized vendors,” said Barajas. “Those operating without registration, known locally as golondrinos or ‘swallows’ will be removed from the beach.”
