Cabo Firefighters Get US Training in the Jaws of Life

Last week, our local Cabo San Lucas firefighters got a crash course—pun fully intended—in vehicle extrication, thanks to a visiting team from Puyallup, Washington.

Now before you picture them pulling folks out of burning buildings, let’s clear this up: we’re talking vehicle extrication. That’s firefighter-speak for carefully removing a car from around a person after a nasty wreck—especially when opening the door just won’t cut it.

This kind of rescue is no joke. It takes a delicate hand and some serious hardware to avoid making a bad day worse for the victim. We’re talking chocks, braces, and of course, the star of the show: the Jaws of Life.

Big thanks to the Puyallup pros for sharing their skills—and to our Cabo heroes for always stepping up, training hard, and keeping us safe when things go sideways on the road.
