Traffic Alert: Carnival Festivities to Affect La Paz Traffic

Plan your routes ahead from February 13th to 18th

During the vibrant “El Mundo Baila” carnival in La Paz from February 13th to 18th, the Municipal Police will increase their presence on avenues around the boardwalk. This effort aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance security at pedestrian crossings, along with managing pick-up and drop-off zones for public transport.

Traffic adjustments include the closure of Paseo Álvaro Obregón at 3:00 PM on February 13th, 14th, and 15th, and beginning at 2:00 PM on February 16th, 17th, and 18th. Additionally, closures will stretch from Ignacio Allende to Juan María de Salvatierra.

Furthermore, sections from Calle 5 de Febrero to Héroes del 47 will be closed during the traditional parade times on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings.

While morning vehicle circulation will be permitted, drivers are urged to proceed with caution and at reduced speeds. Cyclists should note that parts of the bike path will be blocked due to the setup of carnival structures, and it is advised to use alternative routes avoiding Paseo Álvaro Obregón.
