Renew or Die
More than half a million dollars will be invested by the Comprehensive Port Administration of Baja California Sur (API-BCS), for the rehabilitation, vegetation and irrigation network project in three areas of the pier of La Paz.
Insel Hawer, the Director of Engineering and Maintenance, said that these spaces make up the central walk lane, the BMX park and the Cerro de la Calavera scenic road.
“We seek to create functional public sites, greater urban vegetation and attractions for local citizens, as well as for tourists who visit this region,” he said. They will work on improving cisterns, installing submersible pumps, modernizing the irrigation system, and renovating gardens with new species.
He also highlighted that in the BMX park, they will install public bathrooms, irrigation system, renovation of landscaping, benches, ramps, street furniture and installation of access signs, as well as the covering of the cycle path and signage.
On the scenic road, cisterns, irrigation systems, planting of palm trees, andvegetation will be renewed, in addition to the maintenance of information totems and street furniture.
Hawer said that these actions are part of the Port Administration's commitment to sustainable development, which will surely also give a new face to the boardwalk area of the city of La Paz.
