And this one belongs to someone we almost know. It is the Aquila, a 85.6 m / 280′11″ luxury motor yacht. At 110 metres (361ft) and 4,523 tons, she was the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands at the time of her launch in 2017. With a beam of 14.3 m and a draft of 4.2 m, she has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. With a value of $150 million USD, the Aquila is owned by Ann Walton Kroenke, heiress to the Walmart fortune. Ann and her sister, Nancy Walton Laurie, inherited stock from her father, Bud Walton (died 1995), who was the brother and an early business partner of Walmart founder Sam Walton. Maybe they’re visiting family? Christy Walton, widow of John T. Walton, one of the sons of Sam Walton, lives in La Paz.
