Killer Whales Arrive to San Ignacio

3 females, 3 calves and 1 male killer whales are inside the San Ignacio lagoon and are preying on dolphins and grey whales’ calves. This sighting is the first ever to be recorded, as killer whales had not entered the lagoon before. The San Ignacio Lagoon is a lagoon located in the Mulegé municipality of Baja California Sur, on the Pacific side, 59 kilometers from San Ignacio, Mexico and Highway 1. It is one of the winter sanctuaries of the eastern Pacific gray whales.
