A New Era of Inclusivity
Access for everyone! The beaches of Los Cabos now feature amphibious chairs for people with disabilities. To make the beaches truly inclusive spaces, the Los Cabos City Council, in coordination with the private sector, has equipped amphibious chairs for those who need them on three beaches of the municipality, as part of a concrete social inclusion strategy.
This action aims to guarantee the right to access and enjoy public spaces for all people, without exception.
The amphibious chairs enable individuals with limited mobility to navigate across the sand and enter the sea with the assistance of trained personnel. The program will be implemented at La Ribera, with one unit, Palmilla,Beach with two, Chileno one, and El Medano two.
The chairs will be located at the main access points to each beach, where trained ZOFEMAT staff will provide safe support and assistance to those wishing to use them.
This initiative, also supported by private sector companies, is part of a broader vision of socially responsible tourism and demonstrates that urban infrastructure can also meet the criteria of equity and inclusion.
