Golden Zone Cabo will have its charm back

The golden area of ​​Cabo San Lucas, which was previously known just as downtown Cabo was the favorite place for tourists to walk around to buy handicrafts and souvenirs and to have a drink, a bite or a coffee here and there in the different locations of the area.

Due to different factors, this place was neglected by the authorities in the recent past, causing a bad image of the place.

But now, business owners and entrepreneurs, supported by members of the municipal government are determined to fix this and restore the center to its former glory.

Gustavo Laborde, president of the Los Cabos Business Association, said that they will start with the “Synergy for Cabo San Lucas” project within the next seven days, no later than Feb 14th.

“Starting with the boulevard all the way to the Amelia Wilkes Plaza, we will be carrying out with the participation of the public services, urban image, security and traffic brigades, among other agencies of the municipal government, along with civil associations, by taking concrete actions that will be ready in the short term.”

The jobs we will start with are the painting the ramps and walkways for the disabled, the red and white paint for the garrisons and sidewalks as well prioritizing the security the pedestrian crossings and the disabled areas. The paint will be provided by local the government, said Laborde.

Other tasks on the list are everything regarding the maintenance of palm trees, bushes areas with flowers.

All this will be sponsored by the businessman group, providing the labour as some materials, such as tools for cleaning work and garbage deposits according to the area.

Laborde also pointed out that “Among the agreements is to begin pruning bushes, and palm trees and will be painted. We trust that all the actions that we are taking will be immediately reflected”
