During her visit to La Paz, Claudia Sheinbaum inaugurated a new hemodynamics room at the Salvatierra Specialty Hospital and announced an additional investment of over $16 million US to strengthen the institution.
“From now on, because there will be no shortage of resources, when it comes to the health of the people, no resources can be lacking.
That means equipment and personnel, ensuring that all health centers and hospitals are functioning, and meeting all the work demands of the colleagues who work in the health centers and hospitals,” the president stated.
She explained that the goals of the National Public Health System are to guarantee care for all Mexicans, ensure everyone has a medical history, and provide sufficient medications and equipment to treat heart conditions across the country.
Secretary of Health David Kershenobich affirmed that these new facilities represent a universal model for the quality and efficiency of medical care, as all people will be able to receive care regardless of whether they are registered with the various government health programs.
The general director of IMSS Bienestar (A federal social security program), Alejandro Svarch, explained that the additional investment will be used to ensure the full operation of 14 operating rooms in the state and to recognize the Salvatierra Hospital in La Paz as a tertiary care hospital. He also said that the air conditioning system will be renovated, and a new CT scanner will be installed.
Five new mobile medical units will also be acquired, and a new Expanded Services Health Center (CESSA) will be built in Vizcaino, B.C.S.
Additionally, the primary care network in San José de Los Cabos will be strengthened, and a catheterization laboratory will be inaugurated at the Santa Rosalía General Hospital in Mulegé.
At the end of the event, Governor Víctor Castro emphasized that this catheterization laboratory represents a major step forward in the consolidation of a unified health system.
