Mexican Navy in Action Again!

They rescued 22 people

Early Monday morning, a couple of families were rescued after two boats ran aground near Nepomuceno Island, which is close to Balandra and Espiritu Santo Island, in the municipality of La Paz.

According to the SEMAR (Mexican Navy), the rescue operation started when naval personnel received an emergency call reporting the situation involving yachts named “Milagro” and “Santana” which had 16 adults and 6 children on board the two boats. A Defender-type vessel and an Interceptor patrol boat were ordered to set sail. Upon arrival, rescue swimmers reached the rocks where the 22 were located and began evacuating them onboard the interceptor patrol boat.

They were attended to by Naval Medical personnel and subsequently transferred to the dock of the ENSAR (Naval Search, Rescue, and Maritime Surveillance Station) in La Paz. It was reported that the individuals received medical attention for minor lacerations. Meanwhile, the Navy reaffirmed its commitment to saving human lives at sea.
