For the largest attendance in the history of a tourism fair in Mexico
The Tianguis Turístico México 2025 was the most successful tourism event in five decades, showcasing unprecedented attendance, multi-million-dollar economic revenue, closed trade agreements, and unparalleled global reach.
During the presentation of official results, Josefina Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism for the Mexican Government, described the 49th edition of the fair as “a historic celebration of the tourism industry that united 46 nations.”
The Fair, held in Baja California, attracted 8,781 international attendees, including exhibitors, buyers, tour operators, airlines, technology companies, and authorities from five continents. More than 71,800 business meetings were held, half of which resulted in sales, consolidating Mexico’s position as a global tourism powerhouse. Attendees included 1,773 buyers and 1,187 specialized companies; 69 percent were from the United States and Canada.
“It was the most inclusive, most connected, and most economically impactful tourism event in history,” stated Rodríguez.
The gathering’s organization generated an economic impact of over 1.3 billion pesos ($65 Million US) for Baja California, accompanied by hotel occupancy exceeding 90 percent during the exhibition. This edition also recorded the highest number of overnight stays for a national tourism event.
“Mexico is in fashion, and the world has confirmed it. What better place to celebrate than in Baja California, the state where the nation begins,” expressed the tourism minister.
One of the greatest achievements of this edition was the expansion of international air connectivity, with the announcement of 28 new international routes and 7 domestic routes, strengthening access to key markets in Mexico and diversifying growth opportunities for emerging destinations.
The most requested tourism sectors by buyers during the event were:
- Sun, beach, and cruises – 36%
- Cultural tourism – 33%
- Nature and ecotourism – 23%
- Adventure and social tourism – 22%
- Gastronomic tourism – 16%
This approach reflects the global interest in Mexico’s tourism diversity, from beaches to ancestral routes and regional flavors.
The digital impact also broke records: more than 64 million unique accounts were reached on social media and digital platforms, making it the tourist market with the highest online interaction of all time.
With these results, “Tianguis Turístico 2025” reaffirms its place as the flagship tourism event in Latin America, positioning Mexico as a global benchmark in innovation, connectivity, hospitality, and sustainability.
