Young Surfers Win 17 Medals at the State Surfing Championship

“Surf Los Cabos” ranked among the best in the state by collecting 17 medals in the state phase of the 2025 National Olympics, held last weekend at Costa Azul Beach in San José. With this result, the municipality reaffirms its leadership in the sport.

The kids representing Los Cabos won a total of six gold medals, four silver, and seven bronze, allowing 12 athletes to be selected to represent the state in the next stage of the national competition, which will be held in Colima from June 11 to 16 of this year.

The team’s performance reflects the sustained work of the INDEM (Los Cabos Municipal Sports Institute), which has focused its strategies on developing youth talent, particularly in aquatic disciplines such as surfing.

The coordinated effort between coaches, families, and sports organizations has been essential to the growth of surfing in Los Cabos. This sport continues to gain prominence among the municipality’s youth. Technical preparation, favorable natural conditions, and institutional support have been key factors in achieving these results.

In this edition of the State Olympiad, the local team faced the best in the state, standing out not only for the number of medals won but also for the quality of each performance.

The selection process for the national tournament will be demanding; however, the Los Cabos surf team is already undergoing intensive preparation to adequately represent the state. Training will intensify in the coming weeks, with the goal of arriving in optimal condition for the national tournament in Colima.
