If you’ve ever marveled at the stunning beaches and breathtaking landscapes of Baja California Sur, here’s your chance to give back to this paradise we call home! On March 30, 2025, locals and expats alike will roll up their sleeves for the Third Annual Clean Up Day, a community-driven effort to keep our environment pristine and thriving.
With cleanups happening simultaneously in multiple cities across the state, this year’s event is already making waves. In La Paz alone, over 500 volunteers have signed up, alongside four dedicated nonprofits: Mar Libre, EcoXipe, Red de Observadores Ciudadanos, and Estación Comunitaria Mares Circulares.
Every municipality in Baja California Sur is joining the effort, with at least one or two cities actively participating.
But let’s get one thing straight, this isn’t just about picking up trash. Clean Up BCS, the organization behind this initiative, sees it as something much bigger. It’s an exercise in community, responsibility, and education. It’s about coming together, side by side, to create awareness, take ownership of our surroundings, and inspire change.
One of the most beautiful aspects of Baja California Sur is its vibrant, diverse community and that includes the expat family. Over the years, many foreign residents have fallen in love with the region’s natural beauty, but love comes with responsibility.
