Los Cabos Hotel Occupancy Decreased. During the month of September, the Los Cabos Hotel Association reported a 51% occupancy of the Los Cabos resorts, hotels and timeshare properties. This is one of the lowest September since 2020. The tourism flow increased drastically, though, during this week while fishermen from all over the world came to participate in the Bisbee’s Black & Blue tournament. Thank you Anglers!

New Airlines About to Land in Los Cabos.The new flights from Los Angeles to La Paz with Alaska Airlines will begin dropping pilgrims on November 20, while the twice-a-week Condor Airlines flight will begin landing in Los Cabos on November 3. This will last until March 23 and it originated in Frankfurt, offering Economy and Prime seating aboard their new wide-body Airbus A330neo. Let’s all look pretty!
Traffic Cops Deployed Everywhere.Chris López, director of police of Los Cabos, has begun to deploy traffic cops to operate stoplights manually in high traffic areas. So far, 20 such cops have been working at different crossings both in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo during rush hours. The Fonatur glorieta, the most challenging, will be next. Drive carefully!

Earthquakes, Mostly Minor, Continue to Hit BCS.In the early morning of October 14, 4.9 degrees on the Richter scale earthquake was registered in Guerrero Negro, near the border with Northern Baja. No damage has been reported. Yet. The number of earthquakes has surpassed 2,500 since the first one, 4.3 degrees registered in San Jose del Cabo this summer. The cause, according to experts, might be the formation of a new geological fault near or through San Jose del Cabo, where all the epicenters were located. Yes, Palmilla, Cerro Colorado, Querencia and Cabo Real areas. So far, none has caused serious damage.
State University Certified by the University of Oxford.The Autonomous University of Baja California Sur, located in La Paz, has been certified by the prestigious University of Oxford as an Official Exam Center. What is that? Glad you asked. Local students, residents and professors may be certified as English-speaking translators and interpreters to obtain a state certificate. This will allow them to start a business as such, as they must be certified by the state government as official translators.
Doggies Remains Found and Reported on Social Media.A video posted on social media alerted the public – and the government – about an alleged illegal graveyard containing doggies’ remains. The graveyard is located within the installations of the City center for canine attention (CEMAC), located at the entrance to La Paz coming from Cabo San Lucas. The CEMAC’s director, Kenia Angulo, explained to us that the remains are of those doggies that couldn’t make it and that the graveyard is legal. CEMAC is trying to obtain funding for a crematorium. CEMAC holds regular adoption events at the state government esplanade.
La Paz Mayor Delivers Bathrooms.The fishermen who work out of Punta Lobos, at the entrance to Todos Santos driving from Cabo, received the keys to brand new bathrooms from La Paz Mayor Milena Quiroga. The bathrooms are open during working hours to both the fishermen, their families and visitors. The lady in the flowered dress is the La Paz mayor.
