Baja California Sur Governor Victor Castro recently talked about the sorry state of the Transpeninsular Highway in many spots. He mentioned that even though it’s not under his control (it’s federal), his team is doing what they can to patch it up.
But here’s the kicker: the SCT (the federal transport folks) shot down his funding requests, saying they’re broke until the new President and her crew take over on October 1. So, for now, Castro’s just telling everyone to drive super careful. It’s a bit of a bummer, considering how important this highway is for us.
