Recently, a colossal deep-water species made a surprise appearance off the coast of Cabo – and it wasn’t your average catch. This rare sighting left anglers and scientists alike scratching their heads in amazement.
What makes this sighting even more jaw-dropping is that the massive fish was under attack by sharks! Talk about a battle of the giants unfolding right before our eyes.
Now, locals have dubbed this elusive creature the “Earthquake Fish” – and for good reason. According to folklore, these mysterious fish only emerge from the depths when an earthquake is imminent. And wouldn’t you know it, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake shook up Northern Baja on the very same day!
While Pisces Sportfishing didn’t reel in this monster fish, they did lend a helping hand by snapping some photos and assisting anglers in getting the creature to scientists for further study. Just another day in Cabo, where the ocean never fails to surprise us!
