Lots of Whales Arriving!

The last record was 10,000 whales arriving to our state is from 2020, before the La Paz port was closed due to the pandemic. This week, 120 of them have been seen in Puerto Chale only. This oceanside town, with about 400 inhabitants is devoted to seasonal fishing and now that the road from the highway is paved, it is receiving more and more tourists every day. The fishermen have become tour guides, making better money than in the past. There are 60 boats available, a birds’ reserve, the second largest sea lion community in Latin America and 2 sunken ships that can be visited by divers.
