We Are Loved

Because we’re a glamour puss

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio was spotted having lunch with a brunette in downtown San Jose last week. A few days before, actress Gwyneth Paltrow was also in town, along with her boyfriend, TV director, writer, and producer, Brad Falchuck. The couple stayed at Costa Palmas on the East Cape and Gwyneth shared a bunch of happy pictures on her Instagram account. She also held her bachelorette party in that same development a few weeks before.

Another visitor washed up on our shores was Steve Mnuchin, the U.S. Secretary of Treasury, who spent the Memorial Day weekend with us here in Los Cabos. He flew, once again, in a private plane with a full complement of bodyguards despite being under fire for charging private planes and round the clock bodyguards to the U.S. government. Perhaps he needed a break from the intense negative publicity he's getting in the U.S.

Do you wonder why we have so many celebrities visiting? It’s because we are all over travel publications that love us. Los Cabos was named one of The 5 Best Places to Travel in June by the online BRIT + CO magazine. We were included with Big Sur, CA, Cusco, Peru, Hilton Head, SC, and London. Their praise was, “For those looking to mix some R&R with adventure, this city stationed on the Baja California peninsula should be held in high consideration. By now, most of the wintertime crowds have left this sunny hotspot and the temperamental summer weather has yet to hit, so it makes for ideal conditions to lay poolside, yada yada.” Well, we made up the yada part. Then the Houstonian Magazine chose us among “10 Extremely Tempting Beach Vacations to Take in 2018,” saying, “From Baja to Puerto Rico, it’s time to plan for sand and sun.”

Another travel publication devoted its main article to the newly remodeled Viceroy Los Cabos,  calling it “a complete redesign from the former Mar Adentro resort into a new 194-room dreamscape complete with a beachfront pool and bar, infinity pool, state-of-the-art fitness center curated by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, and five new eateries, one of which appears to float on water and another that has a tequila library. Later this year, a rooftop bar will also make its debut.”

Conde Nast Traveler and Forbes devoted articles to the new Montage Los Cabos, located on the pristine Santa Maria Bay, along the four-lane between Cabo and San Jose, where the old Twin Dolphin hotel used to sit. The Cabo legend was demolished for the Montage. Sigh. ,
