Subject: Recycling

I can understand the push to eliminate plastic bags and straws, but why not consider a push to get people to use the same plastic water bottle more than once? Or better yet, buy a Yeti or Contigo thermos? I use the same plastic water bottle for one week or longer and just refill it. The recycling of plastic bottles doesn't solve the problem because we're wasting other natural resources (water among other things) to recycle them. Stop buying the dam things! Or use the same one for as long as you can. Just refill it! Besides: It's estimated that in 2017, around 55 percent of global plastic waste was discarded, 25 percent was incinerated, and 20 percent was recycled. Of the plastic waste produced between 1950 and 2015, only 9 percent was recycled.
