The first draw to allocate 580 homes under the Housing for Wellbeing Program will take place Wednesday, December 16, in Baja California Sur. The event will be held simultaneously at Arena La Paz and the esplanade in front of Loreto City Hall, ensuring transparency and allowing participants to maintain eligibility even if they are absent.
Led by the National Housing Commission, the program aims to deliver 37,500 homes statewide by 2026. In La Paz, about 11,100 homes are planned over six years, while Loreto is expected to receive around 500. Each home is valued at roughly 600,000 pesos (about $32,500), with subsidies covering land and permits. Financing will be available through affordable loans ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 pesos per month (about $80 to $110) over 20 years.
The initiative is part of the federal government’s broader effort to reduce the housing deficit in both urban and rural areas. Officials say the program is designed to improve living standards and stimulate local economic growth. Construction is scheduled to begin soon, with the first deliveries expected in the first half of 2026. Participants not selected in this initial draw will have the opportunity to enter future lotteries.
The Housing for Wellbeing Program marks a significant step toward expanding access to affordable, dignified housing in Baja California Sur and reflects a long-term strategy to address the region’s growing housing needs.
