This International Women’s Day, Southern Baja is gearing up for a powerful show of solidarity and strength. Our community is taking a stand with several protests planned across the state, each one a call to action against femicides and violence towards women – issues that hit close to home for us, given our sadly high statistics.
In La Paz, the march kicks off at 4:30 pm from Cuauhtemoc Park, a significant starting point for a cause that demands attention. Loreto’s protest is set for 5:00 pm at Juarez Plaza, gathering voices in one of our most historic settings. San Jose del Cabo will see its demonstrators gather at 5:00 pm in the La Comer parking lot, while Cabo San Lucas’s event begins at the Cultural Pavilion at 4:30 pm. Each group will make its way to government offices, making sure their message is heard loud and clear.
These protests are more than just marches; they’re a statement that violence and injustice have no place in our state or anywhere else. It’s a moment for the community to come together, support each other, and push for the change we desperately need. If you believe in a safer, more just Southern Baja for all women, join in.
