Los Cabos Mayor, Christian Agundez, held a technical meeting to analyze and evaluate the project to build an underpass at the roundabout from hell in San Jose del Cabo and presented its rendering.
The project is approved, the bidding process is almost finished, and construction will begin this same year and will take some 14 months to complete with an investment of approximately US $24 million.
Before you start shooting the messenger, Mayor Agundez hasn’t revealed what alternate roads will be created to divert traffic and how flooding of the underpass will be averted during the rainy season.
Let’s hope they include signs in English this time—or we’ll all be circling that glorieta like lost tourists looking for tacos in a thunderstorm. Stay tuned.
Oh wow. We are still going to have a glorieta without traffic lights? I cannot see how this is going to be a huge improvement with traffic still stopping at every section of the glorieta. I hope I am wrong since this has already been approved.
