Iconic Cabo Hotel is Being Demolished

The Hotel el Presidente in San Jose del Cabo, inaugurated in 1981 by the government-run Nacional Hotelera group, which later became El Presidente Intercontinental and lately a Holiday Inn, closed due to the pandemic in 2020 to never open again. This week, its demolition started, to make room for a newer, modern resort which name is yet to be revealed. Stay tuned.

  1. David I think this is the hotel my wife and I stayed at for our honeymoon in March 1981. Then it was at the end of paved road for Transpeninsular. It was closer to the twin dolphin than Cabo San Lucas. On the beach there was a rusted out boat that ran aground on the beach below. I swear this hotel was ran by the Hyatt Corp?
