The Baja Under Surveillance, So You Can Relax and Enjoy

To ensure the vacation period ends safely, “Operativo Semana Santa 2025” is getting ready with the deployment of a security operation involving 659 personnel.

The operation will focus on road safety and the protection of vacationers, paying special attention to 31 local beaches and surrounding areas.

More than 12 surveillance zones will be established, with emergency units patrolling constantly.

In La Paz, the Malecón areas from El Molinito to El Caimancito, Eréndira Beach, Pichilingue, Balandra and El Tecolote, El Coyote, Centenario to San Juan de la Costa, Los Dolores, Todos Santos, Pescadero, Los Barriles, and Los Planes will be monitored.

Additionally, a special operation will be implemented at Cerritos Beach with the support of the National Guard to reinforce swimmer safety.

Preventive measures and ongoing patrols will be established at the main beaches of Cabo San Lucas, including Las Tinajas, Pozo Cota, Migriño, El Corsario, El Médano, 8 Cascadas, Las Viudas, Santa María, El Chileno, and El Tule.

Likewise, 11 vehicle control modules will be installed at various road points and strategic areas of the municipality to provide assistance and guidance, along with Carousel operations (which consist of a patrol car leading a large group of cars) in five sections, featuring official units regulating vehicle speed. A total of 146 land units, 7 maritime vehicles, and 28 ambulances will be deployed throughout the municipality.

Pre-hospital assistance will be available 24 hours a day on the beaches of El Cajete, El Comitán, Tecolote, and El Saltito.

Regarding garbage management and collection, containers will be installed on the main beaches, and environmental awareness activities will be organized to educate people about separating recoverable waste and properly disposing of their waste to avoid polluting natural areas.

This operation will be executed by personnel from the Navy, National Defense, National Guard, Ministry of the Interior, State Attorney General’s Office, State Police, Civil Protection, Heroic Fire Department, Green Angels, and Volunteer Firefighters.

Additionally, it was agreed to establish the incident command at the Fire Department facilities, as both the San Lucas and San Jose stations are centrally located in both cities and will facilitate faster mobility.

Finally, it was announced that they are awaiting service providers to submit a request to the Harbor Master’s Office to cancel water activities for motorized boats from Thursday, April 17th to Sunday, April 20th, ensuring the safety of visitors to El Médano Beach.

This means that there will be no propeller-driven boats allowed that could endanger the public; only paddleboards and kayaks will be permitted during those days.
