In Los Cabos and La Paz, 50% of restaurants and bars are pet friendly.
For many, pets are beloved companions and part of the family. More people today include their pets in daily life, from family gatherings to public outings. This shift has led more restaurants to welcome diners with their furry friends.
In La Paz, at least 50% of restaurants now allow pets, often providing designated areas with play spaces, water, and kibble. Julia Hinojosa, a leader at CANIRAC (National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry), notes that 90 of the 180 affiliated restaurants and bars in La Paz follow a pet-friendly model. In Los Cabos, about 75 of 150 establishments do the same.
Hinojosa explains that creating a pet-friendly space requires minimal investment—just synthetic grass and water and food containers. This simple addition makes restaurants more accommodating to pet owners and enhances the overall dining experience.
