Some taxes benefit tourism and others benefit the workers who make it possible for tourists to have the best experience when visiting Los Cabos.
In 2025, the Social Infrastructure Works Trust (FOIS) will launch an investment of $230 million to carry out 15 social works in the municipality of Los Cabos.
Hilda Arras, Technical Secretary, member of FOIS, reported that this year there will be a 27 percent increase in the budget impling that a greater number of works will be able to be carried out.
“The lodging tax increased 1 percent and FOIS received 60 percent of that. It already has brought a greater income. The FOIS movement changed. Today, we can do three times more work than before,” Arras said.
The FOIS Work Plan for this year includes the paving of 11 streets in Los Cabos, a 4-street road circuit in San José, stage 1 of the Vado de Santa Rosa and two coating projects in the constituent park of Cabo San Lucas.
As part of the news that was provided, they highlighted that starting in 2025, the FOIS will have its own bidding unit, which will make the completion of the works more efficient.
