Restaurants Regulations Are Changing. For the better. This year all restaurants in Baja California Sur will have to show the amounts of grams in every food plate and millilitres of alcohol in your booze (not ounces, bunky, so learn the metric system), and will not be able to charge an extra percentage when you pay with a credit card. In addition, if your waiter brings unsolicited items to your table you will not be liable to pay for them. Expect to see new menus in your favorite restaurants soon. Complaints can be filed with PROFECO, Mexico’s consumer protection agency (in Spanish), also lauded as the least corrupt agency in the country. Link here: www.gob.mx/profeco
