Every day at all hours. Faces of Frida. Frida Kahlo is an icon of Mexico and a reference in world art, as well as being a figure that, due to her history, style and way of life, inspires thousands of people. Therefore, it is not surprising that she was chosen to be part of a retrospective art project on the Google Arts & Culture platform. It is an initiative of the Google Cultural Institute in which, through the use of technology and the reach of the internet, new experiences are created with works and museums from all over the world; it is possible to observe the details of works of art with higher resolution and brings the public closer to art worldwide. With the aim of bringing and expanding the experience towards the work and life of the Mexican painter, the virtual collection is made up of more than 800 pieces that narrate the life and emblematic works of Kahlo. You will find photos, letters and portraits, as well as sketches and first versions that are not usually available to the public. Thanks to Google Street View technology, it will be possible to take virtual tours of iconic Frida spaces, such as the Frida Kahlo Museum. Casa Azul, the Dolores Olmedo Museum, and the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Studio House, which complement the experience in a more experiential way.
