Could Our Precious Cabo Arch Collapse?

The debate has started again, following the collapse of the famous Darwin’s Arch in the Galapagos. Local scientists reported several years ago that our arch showed cracks, possibly caused by dynamite explosions used during the construction of the tunnel to the Waldorf Astoria at the entrance to the Pedregal. In Galapagos, the top of the arch collapsed “as a consequence of natural erosion,” said the Ecuador’s ministry of the environment. Let’s hope we don’t lose our arch soon.
