Coming Soon! New Pickleball Court to Hit East Cape

If you live in the Este Cabo area; and are looking for something new to keep you and the family busy; Castillo de Arena South has just the activity opening in the near future. Construction is currently underway on a brand new Pickleball Court and complex.

The court is scheduled to be open the first week in May. Upon the initial opening, there will be two pickleball courts; a small social area; and two washrooms (banos).

The opening will offer free play for the 1st and 2nd weeks. There will be some paddles and balls for the novices and first-timers to try out the sport.

Reservations can be made on the web site – Castillo and will offer the courts for $10 daily per player. Half-day bookings will be available as well. Tentatively, the complex will offer memberships for monthly; six months or annual membership.  Prices will be disclosed after the grand opening.

The payments and reservations will need to be completed online.

The complex has space allocated for three additional courts; participation and popularity will determine if it blooms to the 5-court complex. Depending on the growth, there is a long-term plan for concessions; perhaps a juice or coffee bar.

The property will be fenced and secure. It is rumored that a Bocce Ball court will be constructed there as well; making it a well-rounded family fun destination.

Castillo de Arena South is approximately 6 miles north of Vinorama Cross Roads and 8 miles south of Cabo Pulmo on the scenic coast road. The endeavor is the creation of Paul Clark of East Cape Homes and the neighborhood is anxiously awaiting its opening.  Currently, the closest Pickleball courts are in Las Barrilles.

So keep an eye out for the opening and the web site. The road is a little dusty but good. The trip is well worth the good clean fun to be had. Who couldn’t use some exercise?.
